Recently, the paper has been talking a lot about the competition for place in the local university. What can we say!!! Singapore is seeing a social problem!!! In the next few years, more & more of such problems will increase!! Getting straight As is no longer good enough, you need to excel in academics & CCA....If you get 10 points for your O levels, for last time, it is something amazing...but now...it is just an average score!!
Singapore will soon become like Japan & South Korea!!! Where competition for a place in university is very tense....hence causing a lot of their students to commit suicide!!

sorry, jus some personal view. getting A's was too easy nowadays.
Therefore adding in criteria like social service n CCA was a needs.if not parent would jus force their children to stay at home to study. N only the best, can excel in both academics & CCA.
perhaps getting A nowadays is much easier!!
