SHIMIZU SHOTA - Home
A v. nice j. song!!! Hope you guys like it....
After all this time, I can't go back to that place...
No matter how wonderful the memories are in my heart, I should put them away.
I still remember to this day. That's good enough.
Don't worry. I can still sing.
Someday I'll return. The home all my own.
*CHORUS*
Quick shower of rain Increasingly irritated heart into a garbage dump
Like that several seasons passed
But I could still hear the voice of my hometown
Full of myself, I flew.
Ended up backstabbing people with farewell regrets.
This kind of crumbling dream, alone there was nothing I could do.
At that time, the people I met...
Surely, people aren't that strong That's why
they become swallowed up by jealousy and Ego
But that version of me was tenderly held close. Sorrowfully I cried.
I understood my own weakness.
But my dream came true. I got to liking it a bit.
So I created a home,
Kind of like a huge supportive mansion.
I saw clearly. The world changed.
It became easier to breathe.
Second by second we were growing up, everyone.
That's why I'm glad we met. I'm glad it happened this way.
And so, I've said just about everything.
A place where your heart can be at ease. I suspect everyone has one of these.
The friends I grew up with,
Lovers who've been by my side,
I've lost them all but... a dream I'd like to fulfill
I've lost that too, but once again I've been made to remember.
My new home is right here. But I still remember...
*CHORUS*
Not being able to sleep, I see the same dream over and over.
At that time I received the new place, an entirely new beginning
Regardless of the size of reparations to be paid
I want to be more sensitive to the love
because I don't want to be made to believe it hurts
I don't want to be forced to give up.
So, I've found a means to live
The prejudice-covered common sense crumbles.
If it was put in front of me, almost broken and brittle
but somehow the smile never faded.
It was just like that it seemed. Certainly
it was the first time but miserable yet beautiful.
The clear sky sparkled and twinkled
Right then, once more, we started to cry.
*CHORUS*
If I look back on where I've come thus far
The smiles and tears
Shaking and shivering it'd reflect.
That's me. When you tie it to my future,
I believe it. The home all my own.
because I believe in it.
*CHORUS*

Wilmar's Profit soar 590%!!!
Chairman and CEO Kuok Khoon Hong said palm oil prices could be supported as record crude oil prices were fuelling U.S. and European demand for biodiesel, which can be made from palm oil.
"Palm oil prices are expected to remain firm in the forseeable future," he told a briefing, adding that if crude oil prices topped $130 a barrel that would mean crude palm oil would fetch over $900 a tonne.
"If the U.S. continues to support biofuel and European governments go for biodiesel then palm oil would remain at high prices. The current prices are not cheapFor more: click here

Singapore’s GIC sees global recession
Singapore’s biggest sovereign wealth fund said on Monday a global recession was increasingly likely but defended its multi-billion dollar bets on Citigroup and UBS as providing good long-term returns.
Sovereign wealth funds globally have poured billions of dollars into major U.S. banks reeling from writedowns linked to U.S. subprime mortgages, which have sparked a global credit crisis.
The Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC), which analysts estimate could manage as much as $300bn, said the financial turmoil would leave markets extremely volatile over the next one to two years.
”The financial contagion has now spread beyond U.S. shores, increasing the likelihood of a global financial crisis and recession,” Deputy Chairman Tony Tan said at GIC’s inaugural staff conference on Monday.
”We could be facing a recession which is longer, deeper and wider than any recession we have encountered in the last 30 years,” he said.
Tan made his comments at a staff conference to which the media had been invited. But, GIC declined to answer media queries.
The corporation, which says on its Web site that it manages ”well above $100bn”, rarely communicates with the media but has made efforts in recent months to be more responsive.

food emergency
The World Bank has announced emergency measures to tackle rising food prices around the world.
World Bank head Robert Zoellick warned that 100 million people in poor countries could be pushed deeper into poverty by spiralling prices.
The crisis has sparked recent food riots in several countries including Haiti, the Philippines and Egypt.
The World Bank endorsed Mr Zoellick's "new deal" action plan for a long-term boost to agricultural production.
Emergency help would include an additional $10m (£5m) to Haiti, where several people were killed in food riots last week, and a doubling of agricultural loans to African farmers.

Shock at polar bear's carp kill
Germany's celebrity polar bear Knut has triggered a new controversy by fishing out 10 live carp from his moat and killing them in front of visitors.
Critics say Berlin Zoo should not have put live fish inside Knut's enclosure. But German media report that the carp were put there to eat up algae.
There is speculation that hand-reared Knut killed the carp just for fun.

Girl got killed by Video Game Controller!!!
A 2-year-old girl died after being beaten with a video game controller by her mother's boyfriend, police said Tuesday.
Darisabel Baez's mother overheard the beating Sunday but did nothing until she realized the girl was unconscious, police said. The girl was pronounced dead late Monday at Hershey Medical Center, police Lt. Ron Camacho said.
Homicide was added to the list of charges against Harve L. Johnson on Tuesday; he was already in jail on counts including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
The girl's mother, Neida E. Baez, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Johnson, 26, acknowledged beating the girl with a video game controller but did not say why, police said. Baez said that Johnson had abused the girl in the past and that she heard the girl scream after Johnson beat her Sunday, according to the affidavit.
Detective Dana Ward said Baez was charged because she did not intervene or try to get help for Darisabel.

Microsoft gives Yahoo deadline!!!
Computer software giant Microsoft has given Yahoo a three-week deadline to respond to its offer to buy out the internet company for $44.6bn (£22.3bn).
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said his company would take its case directly to Yahoo's shareholders if Yahoo's directors did not respond by 26 April.
Microsoft made an unsolicited bid on 31 January, but Yahoo's board rejected it as substantially underrating its value. Yahoo has since explored alliances with other firms, but no offer has surfaced.
In a letter, Mr Ballmer acknowledged that such negotiations were underway, but wondered why Yahoo was not talking to Microsoft tooSource: BBC News

Jaguar goes to Tata
Euro Jaguar has become an India Jaguar!!!
Tata’s $2.3bn successful bid for Jaguar and Land Rover has propelled India’s biggest vehicle-maker on to the international stage. The company famed for making the world’s cheapest car has acquired two of Britain’s prime luxury marques. Ratan Tata, Tata’s chairman and the driving force behind its global ambitions, believes it can succeed where Ford, the previous owner, failed. He faces a monumental task.
The sale of Jaguar and Land Rover is a strategic withdrawal for Ford, which in recent years has had to subsidise losses in Jaguar. It is profitable in Europe and can now focus on its core US car business.

According to BBC News, a New 'bin Laden tape' threatens the EU!!!
In a new audio message purportedly from Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader threatens the EU over the re-printing of a cartoon offensive to Muslims. The voice on it says the cartoon, re-published recently in all major Danish newspapers, was part of a crusade involving Pope Benedict XVI. The drawing, first published in 2005, depicts the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban. The voice on the audio has not yet been verified as belonging to bin Laden. The message comes on the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq. It appeared on a Islamist website that has carried al-Qaeda messages in the past.

Genocide!!!
The Dalai Lama on Sunday called for an international probe of China's treatment of Tibet, which he said is causing "cultural genocide" of his people.
The exiled spiritual leader of Tibet spoke at a news conference Sunday in Dharamsala, India, two days after violent clashes between pro-autonomy demonstrators and Chinese security forces in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital.
The Dalai Lama -- who fled his homeland 29 years ago after a failed uprising, said Tibet's "ancient cultural heritage" is threatened with extinction by China.
He said the officials in the Chinese government's local administration in Tibet were "very, very negative" toward the native Tibetans, which prevents development of a "harmonious society."
Tibet, he said, is seeking autonomy necessary to safeguard its heritage.
"We are not seeking separation," he said. In fact, he said, Tibet can enjoy modernization through its connection to China.
China was using force to gain stability and peace, but it would always be superficial, he said.
True harmony and unity must come from the heart, the Dalai Lama said.

Dalai Lama's fear!!!
The Dalai Lama has said he fears there will be more deaths in Tibet unless Beijing changes its policies towards the Chinese-controlled region.
The Tibetan spiritual leader told the BBC he had "grave concerns" over Friday's deadly protests in Lhasa city. But he emphasised that he still supported Beijing's staging of the Olympic Games this summer.
Lhasa, Tibet's main city, was reported quiet on Sunday, locked down by a heavy Chinese security presence. The Dalai Lama told the BBC he had received reports the death toll from the protests may be as high as 100, although he said the figure could not be verified.
The violence - the worst in Tibet since 1989 - erupted on the fifth day of largely peaceful protests that began on last Monday's anniversary of a 1959 uprising against Chinese rule. The demonstrations - like those last September in Burma - were initially led by Buddhist monks and then attracted crowds of ordinary people.
Chinese officials said the riots had been "masterminded" by the Dalai Lama, an accusation he has denied.
Many Tibetans claim their culture has been brushed aside by Beijing and resent local Chinese settlers. China says Tibet has always been part of its territory, although Tibet enjoyed long periods of autonomy before the 20th Century.
Polytechnic & University
Recently, the paper has been talking a lot about the competition for place in the local university. What can we say!!! Singapore is seeing a social problem!!! In the next few years, more & more of such problems will increase!! Getting straight As is no longer good enough, you need to excel in academics & CCA....If you get 10 points for your O levels, for last time, it is something amazing...but now...it is just an average score!!
Singapore will soon become like Japan & South Korea!!! Where competition for a place in university is very tense....hence causing a lot of their students to commit suicide!!

Euro tops $1.55 for first time
The euro has set a new record high against the US dollar, rising above $1.55 for the first time.
Scepticism about whether the Federal Reserve's plans to provide liquidity to the banking system will work was one factor weakening the dollar. The new high was set at $1.5559 before the European currency fell back slightly to trade at $1.5552. Speculation that the United Arab Emirates is about to abandon its dollar peg also weakened the US currency. The euro chalked up its biggest daily gain in more than two years, rising 1.5%.
Analysts said there were worries that the initiative from the Fed and other large central banks would do little to ease the wider problems facing the US economy. The fall in the dollar will make travelling abroad more expensive for Americans and it will increase the cost of imported goods.
However, it should also make US exports more competitive on world markets.Source: BBC News

Football Star, 17, slain before he could answer
Jamiel Shaw was just three doors from his house on March 2. His father told the 17-year-old high school football star to be home before dark. That is exactly what he was trying to do when, just before dusk, gunshots rang out. Gang members pulled up in a car and asked Shaw if he was in a gang. Shaw didn't have time to tell them "no." He was mowed down before he could answer, police say. His dad heard the shots from inside his house and immediately called his son's cell phone to warn him to stay away. But within seconds, the father realized what had happened.
His son was wearing the same shirt his dad had pressed for him that morning. "He was laying on the ground and his face was so peaceful. I knew he was dead."
Police announced Tuesday that an arrest had been made in the shooting. Pedro Espinoza, a 19-year-old member of the Hispanic 18th Street Gang, was charged in the killing and could face the death penalty if convicted, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said. Espinoza is scheduled to be arraigned March 25.
Espinoza was released from jail -- where he was held on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon -- one day before the incident.
Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton Tuesday called on the community to help police locate a second suspect who was with Espinoza at the time of the shooting.Source: CNN

Oil hits record at $108 a barrel
The price of crude oil has hit an all-time high for the fifth time in six trading sessions.
New York sweet light crude touched a new high of $108.21 a barrel, before edging down to trade at $107.93. Analysts at the International Energy Agency said that real oil prices are higher than the previous peak reached in April 1980, which was $102.53 in today's money.
But the oil price measure used then was slightly different to the one in current use and so it is difficult to make an accurate comparison.
The high oil price is making petrol and energy costs more expensive around the world, putting financial pressure on businesses and household budgets.

Nalanda University !!!
Centuries before Oxford university even opened its doors, a school in northeast India attracted thousands of the brightest minds from China, Persia and Turkey. Deeply influenced by Buddhist teachings, it was known as Nalanda - the "giver of knowledge"
Political leaders from throughout Asia have joined forces with Nobel-laureate economist Amartya Sen, the Dalai Lama and other notables to rebuild this once great institution. They plan to spend $1 billion to establish a new Nalanda on a 200-hectare site not far from the old university.

Body found in Paris River
The body of Katoucha Niane, one of the first African women to attain international stardom as a model and a vocal opponent of female genital mutilation, was found in the Seine River.
An autopsy showed no signs of foul play, pointing to the possibility that the 47-year-old may have fallen accidentally into the river, they said.
She had been missing since January and was last seen returning home from a party. She lived in a houseboat near Paris' Alexandre III bridge, and her handbag was later found on the boat.
Katoucha was the daughter of Djibril Tamsir Niane, an archaeologist and writer. She said that her father was initially disappointed that she didn't become "a professional intellectual, with a university degree," but later reconciled to her other successes

Enter & get EXECUTED!!!
Rebels who have seized control of eastern DR Congo's Gorilla Sector have said they will execute any wildlife ranger who attempts to enter the area.
Despite the recent signing of a peace deal, a group of rebels have set up a parallel administration in Virunga National Park.
UN peacekeepers say landmines have also been planted along one of the main routes through the region.
The area is home to more than half of the world's mountain gorillas.
"They are very aggressive against the rangers of ICCN, and have threatened to execute any of us who return to the gorilla sector."
In July 2007, armed men entered the Democratic Republic of Congo's Virunga National Park and killed five critically endangered mountain gorillas at point-blank range, leaving the bodies where they fell.
To date, 10 gorillas have been killed by gunmen or poachers, and two of the great apes are still missing.

Breaking news: Man Shot DEAD by Police!!!
SINGAPORE : A 43-year-old man was shot by Police at Outram Park MRT Station on Thursday afternoon. The incident happened on the boarding platform for West-bound trains at Outram Park station just before 4pm. Police said the man was involved in a stabbing incident earlier at nearby Jalan Kukoh, where another man was killed. It is a rare sight for Singapore Police man to open fire at suspect, the last time a police fired a shot was at 2002.
It is definitely shocking news!!! A policeman fires a shot is already very rare and now the shot is fired at MRT Station where there are public commuters, it is even rarer. Media has reported that the officer has no choice but to fire the shot. However many public has questions, “Why didn’t he shot the legs or arms?” or “Was the situation handled properly?”
I personally feel that the police are right in firing the shot, but not at his chest. The suspect poses a danger to the public and he may harm the public commuters.

Chinese beaten up in Zambia mines
A Chinese manager at a copper smelter in northern Zambia has been admitted to hospital after being assaulted by workers demanding better conditions.
An estimated 500 workers at the Chinese-owned Chambishi mine site started throwing stones at the managers as they attempted to hold talks. Police came in to restore order and rescue the Chinese who had taken refuge by locking themselves in their offices. Several buildings were burned in the violence and a protester was injured.

Sydney gay pride event turns 30
I was reading the news on BBC News and a very interesting headline catch my attention; Sydney gay pride event turns 30!!! I have absolutely no idea that people in Australia celebrates such event. Anyway, I will recommend people to read the article and gain some insight.
-
BBC News
Saturday, 1 March 2008
Some 300,000 people have turned out in Sydney, Australia, for the 30th annual gay and lesbian Mardi Gras parade.
The event has become one of the largest gay pride festivals in the world and generates millions in tourism revenue. Members of the original 1978 march, which ended in clashes with police and 50 arrests, are being honoured. About 100 ministers and clergy will offer an apology for the treatment of gays and lesbians.
While Sydney has embraced its gay community, not all of Australia has, said one of the 1978 marchers."It is still very difficult for young people in country towns to come out as lesbian or gay, and even in outer suburbs and regional centres," Diane Minnis told The Age newspaper.
Now it is arguably the world's pre-eminent gay and lesbian celebration.
